Below are scholarship opportunities for our seniors. PLEASE encourage our students to apply and not leave money on the table.
Write a ONE page, single-spaced essay (12 pt. Times New Roman font and 1” margins) describing your future plans; be sure to clearly state your financial need, career path and your educational plan to attain your goal. Also, if you overcame any extraordinary circumstances to graduate from high school please share this story.
Completed scholarship application packets postmarked by 2/26/21 or delivered to the following address by 3:00PM SHARP! (NO Exceptions):

A $1000 Jimmie J. Powell Scholarship will be awarded to one winner each from Brookwood High School, Grayson High School, Shiloh High School and South Gwinnett High School for studies at any technical school, junior college or four year college. The scholarship check will be presented at the Snellville Lions Club June meeting.

Reminder the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarship is due February 15, @ 5:00 pm
Must be of Hispanic heritage
U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the U.S., for the 2021-2022 academic year
Submit the FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms (if applicable)
The application takes about 30 minutes to complete. No essays or recommendations required for phase 1. To get started, have students must visit HSF.net and log into or create their MyHSF profile to access the HSF Scholar Application.

Summer Youth Program – volunteer opportunity through the food bank and exposure to leadership and service-learning.
Stanford Online Academic Enrichment Programs – students can choose from three options, of two or three-week sessions. There is a cost for this event, however financial aid is available.
SMSA – Summer Math & Science Academy is a great opportunity for our students. The SMSA is targeting underrepresented communities, Latinx/Hispanic & BIPOC (Black/Indigenous/People of Color), average to above-average academic performance, willingness to learn about health care professions, interests in science & math, at NO COST!
